I am working on a video that I want to write out a word with the scribble tool. I want the word to move up on the screen but I don't want to write it 20 times and looking different every time. How can i write the word out once and then copy and paste it into different key frames?

Wait? Let me know if I understand you correctly:
You wish to make scribble effect in your text. Then you wish to be able to move your text f. eg.
on frame 0 text is on center of your composition, then on 2 sec 10% left and up from center, on sec 5 - 70% down and right etc.
And you are asking how to do that without having to make 20 times the same text?

Just use keyframes on your position property.

If you know how to use keyframes, or if I did not understood you correctly - please clarify.

Maybe try clicking the "Source Text" stop watch in the timeline. You can then move the timeline indicator. Copy the keyframe from the original word and paste it to the new location on the timeline. You may have to move the copy/change it from there. Repeat if desired.
