Question

Copy Mask to another layer (without expressions)

Hi there!!!

I faced a problem. When I copy a mask from one layer to another, I faced a changed scale of my mask, just like in 'Layer' tab which shows up when I double-click on layer.

Is there a way to copy mask without changes without using an expressions?

Thanks!!!

Masks use relative layer coordinates. Those do not change when you scale the layer. Hence you have to transform the actual mask, not the layer.

Masks are based on layer size before any transform effects. Scale up a layer, and the mask dimensions don't scale. An expression won't help. A copied and pasted mask will be based on the original layer position with the layer scale set to 100% and rotation to 0º. Any movement in the layer and the new mask position will not match the mask position on the original layer.

I hope you follow that.
