Hi,

I have a question. so recently I ended a project. It was 4000 x 4000. but later I needed it into 1980x1020. so I copied (Copy paste) the original AE file in the same folder and Created a new project with 1920 x 1080 dimension. and imported the copied AE file into the new project and from there I am redoing some animation  to fit 1920 x 1080 screen.

After a while suddenly a thought came into mind and it drives me crazy. Will this copied AE file hamper the original one (4000 x 4000). Yes or No, Please help me. Yes or No

Correct answer Rick Gerard

AEP files are not linked to each other. Each one is an entirely separate project.

Duplicated comps inside the Project Panel that contain pre-comps are still linked to the pre-comps (nested compositions). You need to use a script to make independent duplicate comps when they contain pre-comps or laboriously duplicate the pre-comps and then Alt/Option-drag them to the new timeline to replace the original pre-comps with the new ones.
