Adobe provided font Cortado causes After Effects to crash.

The font could be corrupt.  

If you're running macOS, you can use Font Book to validate the font.

If validation inidcates a warning or that the font failed, you want to reinstall it.

If the font passes validation, then further troubleshooting is needed.  Reinstalling may still help, or replacing it with a different version of the font.

 

A possible work around is to create a Text Object in Illustrator and import the Adobe Illustrator doument or create a Text Layer in Photoshop and import the Adobe Photoshop document.

Without any system info, actual crash info and details like language settings, how the font is used, what you were trying to input and so on we can't tell you much. you need to be much more specific.

It would crash the moment I tried to use it anywhere on any composition in any situation. LOL.
