Question

could not find main entry point for picasso.aex, After Effects 2020

Getting the above error at startup of AE CC 2020. I hit OK and AE starts up and seems to run normally.  But, I'd like to get rid of this error.  When I search around for this error, I get results with similar errors and fixes.  But nothing specifically for picasso.aex.  Can anyone advise me please?  Thanks very much for your time.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I see that you are getting error when you launch After Effects.

Have you installed any third-party plugin?

I was wondering if you have tried reinstalling the After Effects. If that didn't help, try reinstalling it in a new administrator account.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu

Thank you very kindly for the reply.  The error began after the update from CC 2019 to CC 2020.  As the update was automated, not 100% sure how to go about re-installing.  Is there advice or a setup folder you can share with me?  And, regarding 3rd party s/w, at the point I began seeing the error, no additional s/w had been installed or migrated from 2019 to 2020.

Sorry for the delayed response.

You can remove After Effects using the Creative Cloud desktop app. Here's how: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

Once removed, you can click Install in Creative Cloud desktop app to install After Effects.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu
