Crashes with Workspaces, Extensis, Prefs, etc.

I get the same problem with preferences files and also some kind of clash with Extensis universal type client.

I workat a nee new company and have a new dell Alienware machine - hi spec. Plenty for AE anyway.

Because it's new it's has the 'latest of all things'. Like win 10, creative cloud apps. Drivers and everything. Normally I'd hang back on updates and try and work out how stablue updates are.

Id been using some iMacs at the same co and using the same scripts with no issues but on this new windows machine it crashed several times a day. I also have to trash prefs.

As a workaround I am junking my custom layouts myself before quitting AE now. And some of palettes I open as free floating non dockable scripts. (Opening these with file > script > open)

my set up doesn't like these custom layouts and it's a bit annoying

i don't run many scripts but tend to usually permanently have

Flow

explode shape layers

ray dynamic color

ft toolbar

video copilot - fx console on the go.

not sure if any of those are known to have issues.

It's not ideal but I am getting less crashes when I close al these prior to saving and shurging down.

And I don't need to delete prefs as often. I just need to get the work done or I will be in hot water. Deadlines...

In my work some stuff if very locked down and I inmy got admistrator access in the last few days. I still can't update nvidia drivers.
