Crashing

Hello! I bought a nice computer with 64gb ram months ago and after effects was working smoothly with it. But today suddenly my after effects crashes with an error and when i opened again, a "new" version was created and all my preferences were reseted. I still can open my projects and all my presets are in there but preferences and search history are not the same anymore. Does anyone knows how to fix that or prevent to happen again?
