Create new path on the same layer

Hi guys,

let's say I want to draw some paths on the same shape layer. What I do is to grab the pen tool, draw a path, then with the selection tool click outside the layer and then the shape layer again, switch to the pen tool and draw a new path.

That's quite annoying and time consuming. Is there any way to make it faster?

Correct answer Roei Tzoref

i am on lookout of even faster approach

1. while using the pen tool, Hold the Ctrl/Cmd key  to temporarily activate the selection tool and click outside the path to deselect the path - now you can draw again

OR

2. Shift+F2 to deselect the property but not the layer

Actually I can click on the timeline to deselect the layer without switching to the selection tool. Hopefully there is an even faster approach...
