HI:

I’m working on a facial rig. All the elements are shape layers. I want to drive the eyebrows with Nulls that control the path. I made the face shapes a few days ago. Today I went in selected the layer. Opened its contents and selected path. Then I went to Windows>Create Nulls From Paths and selected Points Follow Nulls. I got an error message stating, “Error: No paths selected.” Huh? There is a path selected.

I went and created a new shape layer, set down a new path and tried to run the script again and it worked. Why is the older layer not functioning as expected?

The older path may not be recognized as a standard editable path by After Effects. Try selecting the actual Path property under the shape group, not the group itself. If a new path works, compare its structure with the old one there’s likely a difference in how the original path was created or converted.

Thanks for the reply. I tried selecting the actual path property. It did not work.

As for the properties… I cannot see a difference.
