"display acceleration disabled" adobe effects 2018

So I've recently installed Adobe After Effects 2018 and I noticed that when I drag in clips on to the timeline it says "display acceleration disabled" in the top corner of the preview screen. When I try to preview the clip it looks choppy and it lags and the audio sounds weird. I'm not sure exactly what this means but I think it has something to do with the gpu? I'm not sure how to fix this; I've tried looking up some answers but it's all just advanced tech words and tutorials and I can't understand. If it helps at all I have a Dell laptop intel core i5 windows 7. If you need any more info about the laptop let me know. I know it's not the best thing to use with adobe after effects but it's all I've got at the moment.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Sounds like you do not have a dedicated Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) but rather an  Integrated Graphics Chip (IGC) which is not sufficient to run AE.

Translation...Your computer is not up to snuff.

Translation...your computer lacks the required hardware to run After Effects in any practical sense.
