Does anyone know what After Effects techique is called?

Hi,

I'm interested in Learning After Effects and there is one technique in particular that I would like to know about. Does this have a name or are there any tutorials for this?

    There are three major things going on in the video.

    Firstly, there's just text builds going on, which is very straightforward.  In this video it's not so much animated as just popping on and off in straight edits.

    Secondly, there are some coloured linear wipes.  Also very straightforward.

    Thirdly, the magazine pages are animated using a camera flying over each page,  also very straightforward.

    All of these techniques are easily learnable, but I recommend you spend some time learning the basics of After Effects.  Once you understand how After Effects works, most (or all) of the techniques in this video should be quite obvious to you.

    As Andrew said, this is all very basic stuff when you understand the interface and the principals of animation. The folds in the magazine are either photographed pages or artwork. Everything else is just a matter of basic animation techniques using wipes, 3D moves and text animators.

    Don't expect to get something that looks this smooth and polished on your first try. There is no magic button you can push that will make a good looking and well executed 3D move. It takes practice.

      Thanks for your answers and input guys - wasn't expecting to master the technique straight away...

      As I mentioned I'd like to start learning the program and was interested to know more about the technique/s used in the video. I like the way it scans over the publications on different angles etc. As a designer for a publication company I would love to start getting to know this program so I could possibly introduce something like this eventually.
