dragging material (eg. sand) with moving letters

You may want to settle on something simpler. Such stuff would even be difficult to set up in a proper 3D program. Lots of particle animation and driving it with invisible helper objects. With enough time it could probably be done in Particular or using good old Particle Playground, but that kind of is the answer in itself. It still requires experience and knowledge of these tools as opposed to rehashing some tutorial or downloading a preset/ template project.
