DUIK's Add Bones not working and freezes on Magic Is Happening

I'm running into an issue with Duik Bassel 2. I added puppet tool pins onto my .ai layer artwork, changed engine to legacy, and when I click "add bones" After Effects freezes on the Magic Is Happening screen. I'm only trying to add bones to the 3 pins on one layer. This worked several weeks ago before AE and Duik were updated. I have already tried Duik'sfix & uninstall procedure with no luck. Thanks.

After Effects 2021 18.1.0
Duik 16.2.28

I have the same issue, with Duik stopping working on the magic is happening  page after I run an auto rig, it is very frustrating. But everytime I flip my puppet horizontaly and rig from the start  I dont have these issues anymore.
