Dynamic link importing does not work with drag and drop.

In order to import 30 comps, I have to do this:

  1. Ctrl+I for import
  2. Locate AE file, double click
  3. Go through the AE project folders to find comp 1 of 30
  4. Import
  5. Repeat 29 more times

Drag and drop should be working.

I have the same problem. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling both apps, and also signed out of Creative Cloud, and in again. Still no luck. Import via File - Dynamic Link works as expected, though.

After numerous Adobe updates and preference resetting etc mine seems to work again, unsure what caused it but you can try either the previous app versions or the newer beta ones as a temporary workaround.

Mine has magically started working again too. No idea what caused it, or how it fixed itself 🤔

No luck after reboot or cache clearance. Log attached.

    HI @yash-lucid,

Thanks for posting about this. I just gave this a try in the latest AE and Premiere version (26.0 for both) and the drag-and-drop worked on my Windows machine. Have you tried a system restart after updating to the new versions? If that doesn’t work, creating some log files (Help > Enable Logging) from After Effect might shed more light on what’s happening.

    Cheers,
