Question

Easy way for subtitles

I'm looking for a easy solution to adding subtitles to a daily video. The problem is the copy is regularly amended as the original transcripts are never 100% correct.

Can I link an external text document to multiple text layers? Currently adding them manually which is time consuming. Any suggestions welcomed.

If the program is longer than a few seconds I would do all subtitle work in Premiere Pro. It's is a lot better suited to that task. Even if you have to do the editing by hand, PPro is going to take a lot less time and the render with take a lot less time. The help files in Premiere Pro will give you some pretty good instructions. It's a lot easier and you will be able to do closed captions, ones that you turn on and off in the media player in PPro. You can't do real captions in AE.
