Effect and Character Movement

Question

Hello guys, I am a graphic designer who is eager to make an animation as the main final outcome for my project which is about a wayang kulit (traditional Malaysia puppet.) I want to learn about character movement but still cannot achieve it. I spend a few days trying this character's movement and effect. I hope you guys can help me to produce this kind of movement.

If you want to learn the secrets of good animation, I suggest you purchase and read "The Illusion of Life" by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnson. I own a copy and have probably read it cover to cover about 15 times. Those two men were instrumental in developing the craft, and the principles still apply, whether trying to emulate the Marvel Movies full of 3D animation or trying to create something as simple as the examples you posted.
