Enter button does not make a new text line.

Question

Every time I attempt write text on After Effects and run out of space I press enter and the curser returns to the same line, same beginning.  I can't create a paragraph because a second line will not create underneath the first line.  Very frustrating because I researched online and tutorial are able to make paragraphs in one text line.  Somebody please help.

Have you reset the text panel? what kind of text are you creating? what system? What version of AE? You need to be more specific and provide all these details. For all we know you could be trying to squeeze lots of text into a tiny paragraph text frame or have set your line-spacing to zero. Conversely, there could be some text animator applied that moves the lines. Impossible to know with so little info provided.
