Error Message: Couldn't find main entry point for Radiance.8BI

Hi there,

I'm trying to import a pretty ordinary HDR file (from HDRIHaven.com) into my just as ordinary After Effects project.
It gives me the error mentioned in the subject line: "After Effects Fehler: Couldn't find main entry point for Radiance.8BI (48 § 72)" (I'm using the German version).

 

When I close the modal dialog, it gives me another one: "After Effects Fehler: Unsymmetrisches Unprärparieren. (48 § 30)".

Pleeze halp!

    Can you try RE-saving the file before brining it into AE? With another app? That can often fix any corruption issues.

    I've tried the same with a whole bunch of different HDR files… to no avail.
    After confirming it worked with AE 16.1.3, I'm in the process of trying to get AE 17.7 up and running. Wouldn't even start without fatal error at the moment.

    I assume you've tried deleting or resetting your AE preferences for 17.7 and updated to the latest version?

    when I update I never choose the option to keep the same prefs as that can lead to issues?

    For what it's worth, I just deinstalled After Effects 17 and reverted to AE 16.1.3.

     

    Opening/importing HDR images works like a charm in 16.1.3.
