Error message - Unable to Acquire Image - Warp Stabilizer

Hello I am relatively new to After Effects. I am trying to apply a warp stabilizer to my timelapse composition. I keep getting an error saying - Unable to acquire image. 

Also I get this error when I compose a footage from still images. If I preassemble the video in another application then AE allows me to apply warp stablizier.

Any suggestions ?
