Error starting After Effects 23.6: "Executing startup/shudown script at: C:\Program Files\...

Hi. I have reinstalled After Effects 23.6 on my newly formatted laptop on windows 11 with an Nvidia 3070 graphics card. It is the same computer on which AE was running perfectly. In this installation there are no plugins or external extensions installed.

 

I have tried reinstalling After Effects, the error still occurs:

At startup, I get this error (then it saves the project and quits):

When I access the error log, it indicates:

If you start AE by double clicking on a project (even if it is empty), it doesn't give the error, although I don't know if it remains stable and it is certainly not ideal.

    Hello!, I want to update the status of this issue: without having updated the program, or reinstalled, just by installing some third party plugins, the problem has solved itself... Still, the workaround of starting After Effects by double-clicking on a project was working, but now it seems to have been fixed.

      I can confirm the issue has been fixed... on its own? I can now open AE straight from the app icon, using its home screen and all.

      Same here, as well. So far, I was just starting it by clicking on a project. Recently, I disabled the home screen from startup preferences, and now I can start it up from scratch instead of having to click on a file. So, we know it's the home screen that's misbehaving.

      I also tried disabling the startup screen, but in my case it didn't work. I also tried to start in test mode (safe mode), but I still get the error. Only the trick of starting from an existing project works for me.

      I also reinstalled the After Effects after new windows. RTX 3070
