Error - The font dictionary can't be read

Everytime I try to add font to After Effects after the 2025 update - it crashes and I get this error message.

I googled looking for solutions, attempted to find the 'AdobeFnt' to delete like instructions said but didn't show up in any locations and couldn't find anywhere. Have deleted all downloaded fonts.

Trying to finish a job for a client as is impossible as I can't add text - any help would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks

Hi! I'm experiencing the same issue and have created another thread with a sample project:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-bugs/ae-2025-crashes-when-using-certain-fonts-no-issues-in-ae-2024/idi-p/15027794

I hope someone can shed some light on this.

if you're using Windows, there's a solution here:

Error 83 § 4, font dictionary. no solutions
