Ever since AE 2023 I have been unable to use AE. 2022 works just fine.

Ever sine the release of 2023 I have been unable to use AE. It can not preview videos or effects. I am doing a simple Picture in Picture dissolve and anytime I make a change it just freezes up. If I save and reopen it may play back and cache for 5 - 10 minutes or so but as soon as I try to adjust anything (effects, timing, etc.) It stops displaying. If open same scene in 2022 I do not have any problems.

I have and RTX 3090, 32 GB ram, Windows 10, and multicore Intel cpu and 100s of Gigs of scratch disk space. Ive tried updating Nvidia drivers but no luck. I am trying that once more, but not hopeful.

Anyone else experience this?

Try running After Effects in Safe Mode with the third-party plug-ins disabled.

Take a close look at third-party plug-ins and make sure they're all up-to-date.

What I would recommend to do is to reset After Effects preferences and to remove the old third party plug-ins.

I just tried that and no luck. Same problem. Plays fine and then as soon
as I try to adjust it freezes. This is a very simple project. 6 videos
with animated mattes for splitscreen
