Every time cinema 4d renderer is selected AE crashes - M1 Macbook pro MAX

This occurs regardless of the project. It is not possible to change the 3d renderer to cinema 4D or to create a new composition with cinema 4d. AE version is 25.6.0(Build 101). Mac is running Tahoe 26.2.

Tried re-installing, purging cache, disabling all 3rd party plugins to no avail.

Would you try to use sudo open command by Terminal.app when you launch After Effects? Just in case, you check the permission of Cinema 4D application.

Tried and same issue, cannot launch the standalone app or via After Effects

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the crash. Are there any error messages? Are you able to launch Cinema 4D individually? Try running After Effects in Safe Mode with third-party plug-ins disabled.

Let me know how it goes. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Nishu

Hi Nishu, Thanks for your reply. I did as you instructed and the same issue occurs. I get a "Bad tracked memory ID (23::33)" error. Attaching a video showing you the steps I took. Cinema 4D crashes on startup if I launch individually.

Did you reinstall Cinema 4D itself? or just After Effects? If you are unable to launch the C4D program itself, then there is an issue with C4D, and AE is only crashing because it is also unable to launch C4D services.
