Question

Every time I render a 3D project it neglects the chosen backgrounds and uses the composition color as background

Hi - I took on a project I've seen on youtube and tried to copy it, only to get odd results every time I render the video.

These are my components, according to an ancient question on this forum I have tried to tweak with layer placement, change camera position, etc to no avail.

Every time I render the skies are gone and "Camera 1" is neglected. I have seen the solution to thequestion was to set the main camera as "active camera" or the camera name, and I have no idea how to do that outside of the tiny slot under the preview, and that didnt work. You can get a general idea of how the finished product looks if you look at the folder I stacked upon AE. Black background with no camera movement.

I thought it was a placement problem so I took the background before the black void ( background represnted by the white arrow ) that is the background closer to the camera, but it still rendered the same. What can I do to fix this problem?

simple answer: Some setting i9n whatever 3D plug-in you are using is probably overriding the background during render and/ or, assuming it's OpenGL-based like Elment 3D, the off-screen buffer rendering doesn't work correctly for whatever reason. you need to investifgate that stuff.

I have looked into Element 3D troubleshooting, since you said it could be a part of the problem, the only think I found on the subject was a problem with layers that arn't timed right. I made many changes, re-rendred many times and came out with nothing. I havn't changed anything else rather than positioning of the object, mostly because I don't know what many of the options do. I'm afraid I don't know how to investigate dumps or behind the scenes buffers and such. Could you point me towards a tutorial/q&a/way to investigate or extract information that you or others may be able to analyze?

I'll add that it only happens when I use a 3D background with a 3d object. Camera and lights instantly broken. A static background, even a video, works just fine.
