Question

Exported Video dimension is different from source frame sequence

I was making a Lottie animation with Bodymovin AE extension. There is a frame sequence of images (1000x907) which expected to be exported to a *.mov video. The height of composition containing the frame sequence is also 907. But the exported video is of dimension 1000x912. I asked ChatGPT and it says it maybe "due to the video codec's requirements that the dimensions be multiples of specific numbers, commonly 2, 4, 8, or 16." Is this true and inevitable? It there some setting to stop this behavior or I have to adjust the image size to meet the requirment?

Yes, this behavior is due to codec requirements, as many video codecs need dimensions to be multiples of specific numbers like 2, 4, or 8 to ensure compatibility. This is not inevitable, though. You can adjust your export settings in Adobe After Effects by ensuring the composition dimensions are aligned with codec requirements or choosing a different codec that doesn't enforce this limitation. Alternatively, resizing your images to meet these requirements before importing can also prevent this issue.
