Extract Cinema4D Cameras via Script?

Question

Anyone know if it's possible, and how if it is, to extract data from a Cinema4D file in AE programmatically? My understanding is the AEC plugin may no longer be usable and I'm looking for a workaround. Thank you!

No. It's binary data. that's why you needed the plug-in in the first place. If you want to do anything with scripts you have to tackel this on both ends and export a parse-able file from C4D (DAE, USD, XML) and/ or create your own script that exports the info and then create an AE script that reads it into the program. Check the relevant C4D communities for advice and also check AEScripts.com. Something may already exist. Other than that of course you can still use Cineware to manually extract cameras and all that, though lately it seems to be going down the drain as well. Too many reports of stuff not working.
