Extruding photoshop layers in after effects

I am wondering how to add depth to layers (extrude them) so that when they rotate they have a thickness?

When I try to use cinema 4d as suggested in some tutorials I get the attached error message. "Frame dimensions exceed internal limits"

I'm struggling to find a solution or a way to solve this error. 

Any help would be super appreciated.
