Find Font That s Being Used To Replace

A project I was working on had me use a unique font. And editor involved in the workflow didn't have it so AE swapped out the font, the client approved but now we have to know the font that was used to swap. So we don't know what font is being used when it says [Unique Font Name]. Is there a setting where I can see the font that is being used as a replacement?

ask your editor to check the default font used in AE, cause I think AE will use the default selected font in case the font is missing

It is assumed that when you open an After Effects projects and you don't have installed any of the typographies used inside the project, a dialog box tells you what is the typography missing. Did you get this dialog box asking for the typography? Also it is possible that that is the name of the typography. A quick search in some free font websites reports some typographies with that name.

Another way to look at that is if you collect files to move projects between computers. After Effects generates a report in TXT format. If you open that document in any text editor you can read what fonts are used inside the project.
