Footage replacement issue

I found that when we replace a footage in project window, the name remains same as previous file but footage is new. I need to rename the footage manually now. Please give me the solution.

Hello Bhushan.

Thanks for reporting the issue. Could you please share some more information about this issue?

Which AE version are you using?

Which OS are you on?

What type of footages are you using?

Is it as simple as importing a footage and replacing it with another or are there more steps involved?

Any chance you could provide us a screen recording?

 

FWIW, I tried to repro the issue with a few different versions of AE on both Mac & Win and could not repro with .mov files.
