Question

Frame glitch

When I fully render, in that frame/moment between the switch of layers appearing the two layers of the legs are grayed out. Like perhaps it is showing those two layers at half opacity. This glitch doesn't show inside the composition, only when rendering. When I scrub it looks totally normal when going from one frame to the next. I have tried overlapping and turning off the opacity manually instead but that doesn't help either. When I have them fully overlapping (weirdly showing four legs) it appears to render just fine. What is happening?

Hi Rosalie,

I saw your message. That does seem odd. Can you reproduce the same issue with any other characters or just this one? Sometimes, rebuilding the character can iron out weird details like this. Another thing to try is to export using a different high quality codec like ProRes 4444XQ. I hope an Adobe Expert will come along and give some advice shortly. Let me know anything else you have tried. Sorry for the frustration.

Thanks,
Kevin

Thank you, Kevin!
This effect happens every time the layers are stacked this way, and in duplicated compositions. Whatever glitch I made is happily duplicating. I am planning to do as you said and just scrap it and start from stratch. Darn bugs.

Hi Rosalie,

Are you exporting using After Effects Render Queue or Media Encoder? It could happen due to a mismatch in the frame rate. Please ensure that the frame rate of the Composition and Export settings match.

Let us know if it helps.

Thanks,
Nishu
