Fresh start on PC: AE crashes after typing the letter L
Is there a Clash Action somewhere against Adobe?
Is it truly acceptable for them to take our money every month in exchange of unstable softwares like After Effects? I paid around $8000 as a forced subscriber for the last 8 years. Minimum.
Yes a forced suscriber and you probably know what i mean. Because I need to work with Photoshop and After Effects, but Illustrator can be useful only if I need to edit a vector file once a month max. Selecting those 3 apps would costs more than their 20+ apps offer.
So here's my pathetic case: Two weeks ago, I formated my PC after 8 good years. Everything is well installed and the computer is healthy on every level, Windows 10 pro, 6-core, 64 RAM, 1080ti. I installed the Creative Cloud Desktop App and After Effects (23.1.0): 0 custom plugin used, 0 custom Fonts installed.
Yesterday I got a new animation job as a freelancer. Should be fun to do:
- Create a new comp: 1080 x 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second.
- Create a second comp in which a series of hexagonal shape layers are animated.Very basic, no motion blur.
- Add this comp of shapes to the main comp.
- Scale it up and hit the Constinuously Rasterize star icon to keep it sharp.
- Create a new Text layer
- Browse for a font: Raleway it is.
- Write a slogan. Big title.
- Duplicate that Text layer. reduce text size and move it under the big title.
- Select all text and press the L key to start writing.
- After Effects crashes instantly (No loading, it disappears)
- Adobe Crash Report window: " Please explain what happened, we read every case "
- We are basically forced to pay for the 20+ apps, because otherwise it's a nonsense.
- We have to deal with crashes all year long, since 15+ years
- So is there a solution ahead of us? I'm talking about a very well known lack of stability and we shouldn't be paying to test, pay to report and deal with this amount of stress and frustration as professionals.
Hey @Adobe, seriously. How about this fair offer so we can all sleep better at night: Select 2 apps, get 1 free.
Aren't you giving us 20+ apps anyways?
