Generate wmv file from after effects

I have one AE project that will not generate a WMV file in Adobe Media Encoder. The file should be 2.5 minutes long but Media encoder quits after 18 seconds, and indicates it has generated the file. See below.

I can generate other files from AE with media encoder and have no problems.

I am on the most current version of Windows 10, media encoder, and After Effects.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Have you said to yourself, "Screw AME!  I'm using the AE Render Queue to make a lossless file!"?  Which then is used in AME?

    Have you considered you may have a corrupted file in your comp?  It happens....


    I have used AE render  to create an avi file then used media encoder to create a wmv file. This solution works but shouldn't be necessary. There must be bugs in media encoder.

    I should try to submit this problem to Adobe.

    Without more details about the project nobody will be able to tel lyou why it may or may not render. That said, nothing stops you from pre-rendering to another format directly from AE liek a PNG sequence or whatever. Presumably it's simply a feature or an effect that doesn't work reliably in AME, but it may be totalyl fine when using the direct approach.

    I would like to know what information I would have to provide to resolve this problem.

    If I create a PNG sequence then I would convert it to WMV? is that the idea and what is the sequence of steps.

    I have tried to use PNG to generate a file and I get this error message.
