Question

Getting an archive version of After Effects

I really need the versions from 2021 to 2024, the support didn't help me at all and I don't know what to do. I just physically can't work normally in the 2025 and 2026 versions, even with good hardware, the optimization is terrible for me. How can I get the archives, maybe someone has them if that's possible?

Conrad is right, only AE 2025 and 2026 are installable through Creative Cloud, and older versions aren't officially distributed through any channel.

Could you let us know more details about the issue with the 2025 and 2026 versions? Please share the following details so that we can start troubleshooting:

1. Your exact system specs (CPU, GPU, GPU driver version, RAM, OS).

2. What specifically is slow or broken (preview playback, render times, UI responsiveness, specific effects)?

3. A screen recording of the issue would be helpful.

Let us know and we can dig into the performance side.

Thanks,
Nishu

Support is usually the only way to get an older version, but not guaranteed. They have been known to provide one, but I don’t know what you have to say to them to make it happen.

Because there is no standalone installer (as far as I know), no one outside Adobe can archive them. Installations are downloaded through the Creative Cloud desktop application.

The official posted policy is that the Creative Cloud desktop app provides only the last two major versions for installation, which today means After Effects 2026 and 2025:
