Ghost clicks in After Effects on mac

Hey guys, 

I'm facing a major issue after the new update (Mac Os Monterey). I am not able to single click any option or tab in the menu bar. Not even panels! I have reinstalled mac os 2 times. I have reinstalled after effects 2 times, I have also installed the previous version of AE which is 18.something and it still persists. Attaching a video reference below. So far I haven't encountered any posts about this.

Double clicking works in some places ONLY if I hold the second click - only then does the dropdown show 

Please help!!
