Everything looks good. Solid midrange pc, low end workstation maybe. AE just really hates new components. It was made in the 90's, for 90's PC's, back when AVID ruled supreme. There was no multi-core, there was no hyperthreading, there was no GPU. And so when the time came to add those features they.... sorta did a surface level job but the backend has largely never been refactored or rewritten to truly take advantage if it.

Thia is normal. My old 2017 PC is about 14% faster in AE than my 2025 pc, and CS6 ran on my old PC 22% faster than CC 2024.

I haven't gotten a performance or stability boost for AE since early 2015, and i've already migrated away from it. After Effects seems mostly to be legacy software now.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out.

Do you mind sharing more details about the issue you're experiencing? Is the preview slow even when you play the cached frames (cached frames are indicated by the green line in the timeline)? Preview in After Effects works differently compared to an NLE like Premiere Pro. Here are more details on that: https://adobe.ly/3Lp2BEe

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,
