GPU question

I have configured a custom PC taking into account the recommended specs by Adobe. I7 alder lake, 64gb ram ssd scratch disk etc. This setup maxed out my budget so I went for a basic GPU , Amd rx 550 4gb. As it was the only GPU I could afford with the recommended amount of RAM. This card doesn't have great reviews but these reviews are in a gaming context. Will after effects be satisfied with the GPU ram or would it benefit from a GPU that is meatier all round? I do 2d illustrated animations, no fancy fx or anything.

The RX 550 is one of the worst GPUs out there imho, BUT...

You should be fine. OpenCL isn't great in Adobe, so AMD cards won't really do you very well anyway. My recommendation is to not just not use GPU acceleration. With 64 GB of ram, you should be all good, especially if you only are doing 2d animations.

If, in the future, you want to upgrade your system, you could get a better GPU. I would go with any RTX card and use GPU acceleration with it.
