Gravity effect on text?

Hi!

Is there a way to create a gravity effect on text like in this video:

but without having to animate each individual letter? (Possibilities with effects, expressions, animators, etc.?)

Thanks!

There are several text animators that will get you close to that effect. I don't have time to fiddle with a few of them but you should be able to try a few and then adjust the parameters to get your characters to fly off the screen the way you want them to pretty easily. You will have to spend a few minutes with the User Guide studying how to use and modify text animators. You get started by pressing the "u" key twice right after you apply a text animation preset. You will see everything that was added to the text layer and you can start playing with the controls.

Hi!

I explored the Text Animation Presets for a very long time, and Explosion/Explosion 2 seem to be the closest to what I'm looking for.

I was hoping for better.

Thanks!

Can you describe what the issue is with the Explosion presets. Then let us know what it is you're aiming for. From what I can see, to get close to the example you provided, you will have to set the second KF values for both Amount props to a value of about 20. Then adjust the Velocity Graph to get an ease-in and ease-out for the affected KFs.
