green screen flashing in video

Hi,

I'm contacting you because my niece got an issue while editing her video,

she is having a green screen popping in the middle of her edit and not only in preview (exported video also, as the one joined)

for hardware she has

- i5 12400

- 16 Gb ram

- 1Tb Samsung qvo 970

- 21:9 3440*1440 screen (if ever it can impact)

she has no GPU but she had not the issue on her old dell laptop (i3 10th gen + 8Gb ram with GPU)

we've tried a lot of different settings like modifying the internal CPU graphic allocated memory, disk cache, ram amount, with or without multi-threading and with more or less maximum cap, etc... and of course, reinstalling the whole adobe suite (creative cloud & after effect)

she has the lasted update available now (sorry I don't remember the revision number), running on windows 11

again, starting the same edit on her laptop (less powerful) does not reproduce this bug

has anyone already experienced it and now how to solve it?

the only "fix" that we've found is to reduce the preview quality from full to quarter

Thanks

The solution that worked for me was clearing the Media Cache in both After Effects and Premiere. I was still able to use GPU acceleration with my GTX 1080. The video clips causing issue were from phones. No more green screen in the export, phew 🙂

I'm getting this too in AE 2023, and turning off hardware accelerated decoding is not an appropriate solution as it EXPONENTIALLY increases the export time.

Hi aurelien27743365r3hw,

Sorry for the issue.

Did Mylenium's suggestion help? If not, please check if it's happening with this particular footage or all of them. What's the source of the footage you're having issue with? Is it a screen recording?

Let us know, we're here to help.

Thanks,

Nishu

Turn off hardware accelerated footage decoding in the preferences under Import.
