This is also happening to me and has been an issue since November of 2021. I cannot even use After Effects since then.

Windows 10 Pro - latest update

Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 - With the latest Quadro driver

64 Gb RAM

i9 12 core 10K Series.

Its really annoying, I have invested so much money into a product that doesn't work for 6 months of a year. Getting so tired of this. so I have to use Blender to do my motion graphics now

Ok So Support did guide me to remove the Plugins Folder from the Common File Folder within the AE Application Folder. But this seems to be the case for every update for me as this was the same fix back in December. I have been working on my mac with no problems but need to integrate 3D to my comps, wish I didn't need to do this procedure for every update on Windows.

Hi Tamvakisphoto,

Sorry for the crash.

Would you mind sharing the following details so that we can troubleshoot the issue properly:

  • What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)?
  • Do you see any crash reports?
  • How do you launch After Effects - do you double-click a project file or click its icon?

Let us know, we're here to help.

Thanks,

Nishu

Without actual exact system info and the relevant crash details we really can't tell you anything. Of course the usual culprits may apply: botched graphics drivers messing up GPU acceleration, permissions issues blocking cache folders and a million other things. Either way, you have to be more specific before anyone can even guess what's going on.
