HELP computer frozen with no auto save

i was just editing a sports video going frame by frame drawing in someone’s body when my pc froze for the SECOND TIME with no mouse cursor, nothing works. This has only happened to me while using after effects, and this has never happened to me before, so twice in a few hours? somethings gotta be wrong. i didn’t see the auto save pop up at all while working, so is there ANY WAY to save my work like this? or why it keeps doing this?
