[help] Expression selector to copy font style from another layer or other way

Question

So I found a youtube tutorial about usingn expression selector,

and I was thinking of maybe changing a bit of the coding to make the selected characters to be BOLD but I'm getting this issue or maybe my code seems incorrect.

So you could see that (fromtextlayer) , I'll just change the (fromtextlayer) text to a specific one, example "Mindse" and it would highlight the specific characters of (text1), and I was thinking of like changing that (text1) characters' style to bold.

(I really am new to coding and just learn it today just for a specific project and wanting to convert it to a .mogrt file to make things easier)

You have a misunderstanding here. Text style expressions are applied to the source text property, not animators. They are two completely different systems. This can never work and the tutorial you picked is not relevant to your issue beyond explaining the RegEx usage. You would have to approach this completely differently.
