Help! I screwed up my After Effects layout!

Question

zi am brand damn new to After Effects. I have been taking turotials. I was working on a project today, and I must have hit the wrong keys or something because suddenly, in my composition view window, there are two images of the same project. The one on the right plays back in a loop every time I make a change to the project.

I HATE THIS!

I like to work in a single composition screen, not two side-by-side screens, which are smaller and therefore harder to navigate. How to I go back to that simple single screen.

In your workspace bar, at the top of the UI, you can either choose a different workspace, or reset the one you're on to its default by clicking this top option in the little tab menu (3 horizontal bars).

You'll find the same option in your Window > Workspace menu.

If you have two composition viewers open (which it sounds like is the case), you can also just close one of them.
