Help! images not showing!

I've just updated my AE and did my usual workflow of uploading PNGs to the comp and then dragging them in, but for some reason it now doesn't show the images anywhere on screen?? have I accidentally turned them off or am I missing something? 

Looked back on some older Q&As to see if that could help first and have tried:

•  went to 'Window' > 'Workspace' and set it to standard, reset, all panels etc
• changed the names of the PNGs

i would really really appreciate any help and hopefully i'm just being a little dumb and it's something obvious!
