Help Needed: Creating a 3D Model for a "German Coin Game" in After Effects

I’m part of a project management agency that handles multiple After Effects projects. Recently, a German-based company, Kopf oder Zahl (https://kopfoderzahl.org/), assigned me the task of creating a 3D model for a "German Coin Game".

The issue is that I’ve never created a 3D object in After Effects before, nor have I tried anything similar. I’ve watched several YouTube tutorials, but none of them have been particularly helpful for my specific needs.

Can anyone guide me on how to approach this? Are there any plugins, tips, or beginner-friendly resources that can help me get started with 3D modeling in After Effects? I’d appreciate any advice or step-by-step guidance.

You can't really model anything in AE. You only get basic extrusions. If you really wanted to re-create a 1 Euro coin that would be a ton of layers with individual outlines to represent the subtle raised areas, the serration on the rim and all that. That being the case it would probably be more efficient to just buy a stock model on a content site and import it for whatever animations need to be done.
