Help on "Create Shapes from Vector Layer"

Question

Hi, so I'm trying to follow a tutorial from a guy on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_cT2TwtG_Y) about creating letters from lines from dots, and I'm kind of stuck at around 7:30, when I try to use the Create Shapes from Vector Layer tool on the path of the line it doesn't create the shape, although a new outline layer is created, the only thing that appears is a pivot (I think it's called like that, at least in Blender), and as I'm new to using Adobe softwares I don't know how to solve it, could you please help me?

You have created a shape layer. If you press the U key twice, you will see all the modified properties of the layer. You should see the Path with a Stroke in the timeline. Click on the "Toggle Mask and Shape Path Visibility" to turn it on to see the Path in the Composition Panel.

Filled shapes do not work well with Trim Paths. As long as the path in Illustrator does not have a Brush applied to the Path, you will get a path with a stroke. If you applied a Brush to the Path in AI, converting the Vector path to a Shape layer will give you a closed Path with a Fill instead of an open Path with a stroke.

Evan Abrams is a pro. The only thing he left out of the tutorial was the part about the path visibility and a warning about using a Brush in Illustrator when creating the artwork. Let us know if you need any more help.
