Question

Help Stabilize footage. Warp Stabilizer isn't removing the shake. Footage attached.

Hello,

I'm trying to stabilize my footage. I thought this would be an eazy fix but I've tried warp stabilizer in After Effects & Premiere Pro but the footage won't stop jumping around. Ideally, the 'no motion" feature in Warp Stabilizer in premiere pro should work as it's a static shot but no luck no matter how many tuts I watch. I attached the footage to this post. I have other shots that I'll need to stablize. I went shooting thinking that this feature would work.  "Smooth Motion" works Premiere Pro as it should but not "No Motion".

Thanks

Tha parallax style gives the scene a sort of 3D effects so even if you stabilize on the middle of your footage you will notice the edge elements are still moving, so the value of the X and Y axis are different between the middle and the edge also between the near and the far elements, you have a least 4 layers of parallax which make the stabilization not possible on this shoot

You are not going to be able to stabilize the whole shot because there's too much of a difference in parallax. It's kind of the same thing with warp stabilizer. Perspective is controlled by camera position, framing by focal length. You've got items in the frame that are almost touching the lens and other ones that are 20 feet away so that parallax shift from the moving camera is going to be very difficult to fix. The shot is just not a good candidate for stabilizing.

I must say I think the Smooth Motion setting in AE's Warp Stabilizer does a pretty remarkable job, given the footage.

You won't ever get a perfect static track of this shot because there's too much three dimensional movement within thr frame.  The very close elements have distinct parralax changes as the camera moves around, and no tracker can fix this kind of movement.

If the Smooth Motion results aren't to your liking, you may be able to replicate the shot with a careful mix or morph transition between two still frames of the shot, one with the foreground sharp and one with the background sharp.

Otherwise, is re-shooting with a tripod an option?

Thanks. I'm just wondering why Adobe doesn't have anything that can make one spot of the screen not move while and allow stabilization from that one point/pixel. Not sure if that's an option now. I need to see an example of how "no motion" is used because I thought this scenario was perfect for the effect which is why I shot it like this.

I did take the foreground and background when they were in focus and added cross dissolve to create a modified rack focus with photos. Looks great too.

Sucks I have a lot of footage shot like this because I thought the "no motion" setting in warp stabilizer would work. Smh

Sorry to hear that, but at least you've learned an important lesson.  ALWAYS get it right in the camera if you can.  5 minutes extra at the shoot can you save you hours in post production.
