Hello, i'm really stuggling trying to re create this effect (see link) of the polaroids spinning around the girl. I've tried to recreate this effect and i can get the polaroids to spin in a way that makes it look 3D. I know i need to use the 3D camera, however i dont undertand how its been masked to make the polaroids look like they're going behind and in front of the girl. Absolutely ANY help would be appreciated, or a detailed explanation or any useful youtube tutorials, just can't seem to get my head round how this works. Thank you!

These are two very similar videos or the same effect:

You simply will need multiple layers and duplicates. It's all just illusion painting in 2D. At best you create pre-comps of your swirling cards and you then simply arrange them in the parent comp as needed with additional masking and using the keyed person as a track matte. again, you just need to spend more effort on it. This is nothing you can do with a single comp and just a few 3D layers in the same comp. It requires  to use duplicated layers over and over.

Hi, put another layer of your person on top of your polaroids and mask out the part of them that stays in front when something goes behind - that's the basic principle.
