Holding shift to move something on a straight line causes extreme lag

The problem: when I hold shift so that I can move a text from left to right (not up and down) After Effects lags extremely. But when I don't press shift, the text moves smoothly and without lag. I've attached a video.

 

Windows 11

After Effects 25.1

Nvidia Studio Driver 572.16

RTX 4080 Super, i9 14900k, 128gb Ram

Thanks for reaching out, Will.

Is it happening with a specific font or all the fonts? Can you try running After Effects in Safe Mode with third-party plug-ins disabled and test on a new project?

    Hi Nishu, thank you so much for your reply. I opened AE in safe mode without plugins and it worked like excpeted. Then when I reopened AE in normal mode with plugins, it works as well. So I guess it was a glitch, thank you for helping me "unglitch it" in a timely manner!
