How can I move an animated shape?

I have this animated shape. I want to duplicate it and move it's position manually with the cursor (while maintaining the position animation). But each time i attempt it, it just changes the position path.

How can i drag around the whole shape without disturbing the animation path?

Legend

Select all keyframes on the duplicated layer and hold down the Alt key while using the move tool. Otherwise you can always pre-compose and the nduplicate the resulting layer and move it as a whole.
