How do I change how Audio Panel looks in After Effects?

I would like to change the display of the Audio Panel in AE to look like a gradient and show when audio is peeking.  It is currently showing up as thick solid color blocks and does not indicate when audio is peeking (despite there being a space for that in this view).

I'm attaching two screenshots:
(1) Current Audio Panel Display.png = How Audio Panel looks in my projects, currently
(2) Desired Audio Panel.png = How I want my Audio Panel to look.

Computer and Adobe Specs:
Adobe After Effects Version 22.6.0 (Build 64)

iMac Pro (2017)
macOS Catalina: Version 10.15.7
Processor: 3.2 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon W
Memory: 128 GB 2666 MHz DDR4
Graphics: Radeon Pro Vega 64 16 GB

Agree with what Kyle Hamrick said.

Can you try resetting the preferences of After Effects? Here's how: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-after-effects/td-p/10634342

Let us know if it helps.

Thanks,

Nishu

Hmm. Mine definitely doesn't look like this, though I'm on Windows.
Have you confirmed it has this appearance across other projects, and with other audio files?

I don't see how this could have been an intentional change (esp since I'm not seeing it), so I suspect you're encountering some kind of bug or unintented situation here.

nishu_kush kindly provided the fix -- I just had to reset my AE Preferences and it's back to how it should look.
And just FYI, I did try other projects and files.  I even sent one of my projects to a co-worker but they weren't seeing the color block style on their end.

I think you need to post this as an Idea, instead of a Discussion style post.  That will include a vote option, so that you can build support for your idea.

This isn't an idea.  My projects used to have that gradient look and then I don't know what happened.

There's nothing to change. This stuff is hard-coded and AE is not an audio-processing app. Whatever audio you import should already be adjusted and mastered suitably.

With my workload, it's just quicker for me to work completely in one program. I have been adjusting volume in AE for years.  But the audio itself isn't the issue I'm having. I want the Audio Panel/Window to look like a gradient.  It used to be that gradient and would show when audio was peaking.  My current Audio Panel/Window only shows color blocks and does not indicate peaking (pictures attached in original post).
